Our Kindergarten program accommodates 20 children ages 4 to 6 years old. The teacher/child ratio in our Kindergarten Program is 1:10.

Our Kindergarten curriculum meets or exceeds the expectations set forth in the Kindergarten Program of the Ministry of Education and Training. Kindergarteners engage in theme-based units that are focused and incorporate language, math, science, music, creative arts and social development. Thematic units encourage children to discover the world around them, develop independent learning skills and provide many group activities to practice social skills such as cooperation, sharing and turn-taking.

Our Language program focuses on alphabet knowledge, phonics, concepts about print, word recognition, reading comprehension and writing. Kindergarteners develop literacy skills in whole groups and small groups each day as they experience many forms of theme-related reading material in the classroom - big books, fiction and non-fiction stories, listening centre books, poems, songs, reader's theatre, fairy tales and nursery rhymes. Children enjoy reading independently in our classroom Reading Centre and sharing books at home through our "Snuggle Up and Read" Program.

Our selected Math Program incorporates hands-on manipulatives, big books, songs and poems and focuses on number concepts, simple addition and subtraction, measurement, telling time, money, 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional shapes, patterning, sorting, graphing and probability.
